All employees, visitors and contractors shall be drug and alcohol free on all company vessels and office locations.

Those who violate the policy will be removed from company site and may be denied future entry.

Declare all prescription and non-prescription to Master, dedicated Officer or Medic when joining vessel.


Company Rules
  • ZERO limit and ZERO tolerance of use, possession, distribution, or sale of drugs and alcohol on company premises or vessels

  • ZERO limit and ZERO tolerance of use, possession, or distribution of alcoholic beverages during on-signing period of vessel

  • ZERO limit and ZERO tolerance of use of drugs or alcohol during travel to vessel

Restrictive use of alcohol may be accepted when representing the company.

 

If use of alcohol during off-signing travel, moderation to be expected.

Exception: No alcohol allowed if involved in incident that can cause an investigation.

 

The company reserves the right for disciplinary action as deemed necessary for any violation of this policy.


Testing

Alcohol breath testing kit is available on all vessels.

Perform and document test on relevant personnel after any serious incident or accidents, or if there is any suspicion towards individuals being under influence of alcohol.

Unannounced periodic or random drug or alcohol testing can be conducted at any time.

A positive test result or refusal to conduct a drug or alcohol test qualifies for disciplinary action.

Employees might be submitted to medical evaluation or alcohol and drug testing when suspicion alcohol or drug use, including workplace incidents.


Dependency and Treatment

Seek advice following appropriate treatment if you suspect a drug or alcohol dependency.

The company's health service will advise and assist in securing treatment if needed.

An employee who requests for help in overcoming problems with drug or alcohol dependency will not be terminated. Nevertheless, if an employee suffering from drug or alcohol dependency refuses rehabilitation or fails to respond to treatment or fails to meet satisfactory standards of effective work performance, appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination, will be taken.

Unannounced searches for drugs and alcohol on owned or controlled vessels may be conducted.
